MISCELLANEOUS VALVES

PART 1 – GENERAL

1.1 THE REQUIREMENT

A. The work of this Section includes providing miscellaneous valves as indicated, complete and operable, including accessories and operators.

1.2 REFERENCE SPECIFICATIONS, CODES AND STANDARDS

A. The work of the following sections applies to the work of this Section. Other sections of the Specifications, not referenced below, shall also apply to the extent required for proper performance of this work:

1.3 SUBMITTALS

A. In addition to the requirements of Section 15100 and the material listed in the detailed specification, the following shall be submitted in accordance with Section 01300:

1. Complete assembly and installation drawings showing dimensional layout, materials of construction, applicable material standards, equipment details and appurtenances.

2. Manufacturer literature and catalog cut sheets.

3. Manufacturer’s installation instructions.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS

2.1 HOSE VALVES (HOSE VALVE STATIONS)

A. Unless specified otherwise, hose stations shall a 2-inch brass angle valve, composition disc with 1-inch threaded nipple adapter with gate valve installed on the 2-inch riser as shown on the drawing. Valves shall be equipped with a quick disconnect for water hoses.

2.2 QUICK DISCONNECTS

A. Quick disconnects shall not be disconnectable under pressure. 2.3 PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES FOR STRUCTURES

A. Pressure relief valves shall be the type designed to limit the uplift pressure of groundwater on tanks and other structures. Pressure relief valves shall be provided with replaceable neoprene gaskets connected to both the cover and body seats.

2.4 MANUFACTURERS

A. Hose valves shall be manufactured by the following or equal:

1. Crane

2. Lunkenheimer

3. Powell

B. Quick disconnects shall be manufactured by the following or equal:

1. EverTite

2. Gate

C. Pressure relief valves for structures shall be manufactured by the following or equal:

1. Neenah Foundry Company

2. Coldwell-Wilcox

PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION

A. Installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and Section

15100.
