Laboratory Equipment


PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1      SUMMARY

A.   Section Includes:

1.   Furnishing, delivery and inventory of process control laboratory equipment and supplies.

B.   Related Sections include but are not necessarily limited to:

1.   Division 01, Additional General Requirements.

1.2      QUALITY ASSURANCE

A.   Catalog and/or model numbers are provided to establish the minimum quality and functional requirements.

1.3      SUBMITTALS

A.   Submit  all  laboratory  equipment  information  in  a  single  coordinated  transmittal. Partial submittals will not be accepted.

B.   Operation and Maintenance Manuals:

1.   See Section 01783, Vendor Equipment Manuals, for requirements for:
a.   The mechanics and administration of the submittal process.
b.   The content of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

2.   Provide O&M manuals for items 12, 13, 15, 16 and 20 listed below.

1.4      DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A.   Coordinate delivery of laboratory equipment and supplies with laboratory casework installation.    Laboratory  casework  installation  to  be  complete  prior  to  delivery  of equipment to facility laboratory.

B.   Notify the ENGINEER at least 30 days prior to intended date of delivery of laboratory equipment and supplies to the facility laboratory.

C.  Upon delivery, provide and pay for the services of the laboratory equipment supplier to work with OCSD’s Designated Representative to inventory the delivered material. Remove from the Project site any items found to be damaged, broken or not in conformance with these Specifications, and replace at no cost to OCSD.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1      ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS

A.   Subject to compliance with the Contract Documents, the manufacturers listed below are acceptable. Catalog numbers are listed for convenience purposes and to establish functional and quality requirements.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1      INSTALLATION

A.   Upon delivery to site, provide and pay for the services of the Laboratory Equipment Supplier to unpack, install, calibrate and demonstrate the proper operation of items 12, 13, 15, 16, 20 and 22 listed above to OCSD staff.
