SECTION 13322 PLC SYSTEMS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 DESCRIPTION
A. This specification covers the technical requirements for the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Systems as described in the Specifications and as shown on the Drawings.
B. This specification applies to the PLC systems mounted within the Process Control System Local Control Panels LCPs, RTUs and all other enclosures as shown on the P&IDs.
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Submittals shall be as specified in the following specification sections:

PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 LOCAL CONTROL PANELS (LCPs) PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLERS
A. PLC’s shall meet national and international standards including DIN, UL, CSA, FM and ISO 9001.
B. PLCs shall be CompactLogix with remote I/O Racks within the panels as required.
C. PLC's shall consist of a CPU with maximum memory available, instruction set, power supplies, local and remote input/output modules, communications modules and hardware, and all other components required to make the unit perform all of the functions required.
D. System components including CPU, power supply, signal modules, function modules and communications modules shall be DIN rail mounted.
E. Modules shall include an integrated backplane bus, with connecting cables fixed in place by cover protected screw-type connectors.

G. Discrete Input Cards: 1769-IA16
H. Discrete Output Cards: 1769-OW8I
I. Analog Input Cards: 1769-IF4I
J. Analog Output Cards: 1769-OF4CI
K. Provide 25% spare I/O of each type.
L. Communication Cards: As required to provide all I/O shown on the P&IDs and required to meet the control panel specification requirements.
M. PLC programming shall be via Microsoft Windows based software. All PLCs shall be programmed with the same software package.
N. PLC Manufacturers: Allen-Bradley CompactLogix (Rockwell).
2.2 CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE
A. Provide one licensed copies of programming software (RS Logix 5000 Standard & Networx Edition)
B. Provide license, manuals, programming cable(s) and program CD(s) in a three ring binder with each software copy.
C. Software copies to be turned over to owner at time of control panel factory tests.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 GENERAL
A. Existing PLC system may be relocated within control panel to facilitate installation of new PLC system, but existing PLC system must remain in operation until the new PLC system has been installed, configured, and tested.
